Thanks God Pinoy Food is NOT Main-Stream FOOD...
STOP - Wait.. We are NOT making Pinoy Food or the Kitchen bad... ! NO !!!
But we have to be honest and well, yes... some dishes are very tasty, that is true for sure but the variety and ingradients are often very poor choices and low quality of food !
Partially due to the Fact that most Pinoys are very poor (financially)
So when the speaker (on the LEFT) is Bragging about you don't need a knife, that is actually NOT TRUE !
Sad to say, YES... YOU will not get a knife to eat ! That is TRUE ! And sad to say all too often, dishes are NOT cut into the dices what you could actually get into your mouth, what can cause often (foreigners) a big inconvenience, as YOU are then forced to eat it by HAND... We like to eat with our hands (Well, got used to it ! LOL) but many people can't adopt to it and well, let's say it's a challenge !
True is, that the Pinoy Kitchen, was somewhat inspired by Spanish, Indian and some other Asian Countries, YES... but only SOMEWHAT inspired... LOL !
BUT there is a BIG BUT as sad to say, Pinoy's are ONLY using in the greater majority 5 to 10 Spices EVER ! Well, with only such little variety of spices, your food combination of different tastes is extremely limited !
NOTE: Many other things they tell you are true and others are not...
Is Pinoy food eatable (as a foreigner), most of all dishes YES !
Some, well... if you like to eat:
'Balut' (it's a 1/2 developed Chicken in a Egg !)
'Dog' (YES, grilled Dog !)
'Snake' (Grilled or Cooked Snake)
'Monkey Brain' (Yes ! As in Monkey's !)
So if YOU can say, all this you like too, then YES ALL is eatable !
We eat a lot of different Pinoy Foods and many dishes are very tasty, but as a foreigner, you need to ask ALWAYS... what are the ingredients ! BEFORE you eat it !
NOTE: Be careful when eating 'Street-Foods' !
YES, many things are very tasty but the hygiene are all to often very poor and sanitation, is very often a word many street vendors never heard of !
So if you are NEW in the Country... Be careful, what you eat, as you might end up with very bad Diarrhea or even in the Hospital ! NO Joke !
Pinoy's are used to their foods... their entire life they eat it... so their stomach can take and handle things, what WILL make a foreigner (newly in the country) very very sick !
TIP: Watch the Street Vendors for 15 Minutes, how they cook their Foods and then decide if you want to eat it... !
But with no doubt, are the Philippines worth a Visit or even living long term here ! As long as you are careful and use common sense !
It's still, a little more FUN in the Philippines, then many other countries !
