Bacolod City
Located North West
on Negros Island
LCS Ranking the MassKara Festival with:
14 Stars
Yeah Bacolod is very famous for its yearly "MassKara" Festival,
where dance groups from many islands and regions come together to compete,
the event features live shows and various real cool attractions.
The elaborate costumes created and worn by the dancers are truly sensational.
- WARNING -
- BE AWARE !
This festival also attracts many pickpockets and prostitutes from many regions.
Be extremely cautious to avoid getting scammed during the festival, or robbed in the crowd!
The "UNFILTERED Opinion" in this Video Clip (on this page)
isn't worth its weight in gold, meaning he isn't showing much about Bacolod,
but hey, we added this video to our collection because
you can at least get a glimpse of what Bacolod looks like in 2025
But that's about it...
Don't expect any real insights, sadly this clip is not a honest review as promised,
just a somewhat a mini informative visual tour not even showing much of this fairly large city.
What the blogger didn't show...
Any of the night-life, neither did he show the Market Place
or the section were you can find all types of stores.
The park he shows...
Is at night a hooker pickup place and even drugs are sold there so it is not a safe place to be,
unless you wanna take a high chance to get robbed or in trouble.
Overall, Bacolod:
Is really not a tourist place.
It's just a normal larger city and offers what a city should offer,
and its roads were badly planned decades ago,
and due to this, it has today a lot of traffic + pollution!
Fact:
The city is very polluted due to it's traffic,
so if you have asthma, then Bacolod is not for you.
Also, the night-life is very limited.
Bacolod
Has no nice clean beaches; the ocean water around the city is actually dirty
due to the big harbor and it's traffic,
so swimming isn't an option besides in your hotel pool.
Good NEWS:
Bacolod has a good hospital, a shopping mall, and many supermarkets,
as well as hardware stores and various other businesses a city should offer.
You can also find a good hotel for as low as 2,000 pesos per night.
If you want to see the ruins, it might be worth a trip,
but other than that ???
Best time to visit:
Feb 15 to June 1st.
FAQ:
How do you know this info about Bacolod ??!
We have visited Bacolod and surrounding regions many times.
